No visit to Samarkand is complete without exploring the Shah-i-Zinda complex, a necropolis that is a masterpiece of medieval Islamic architecture, with its blue-tiled mosaics shimmering in the sun.

Listening to the noise of a watermill on the only river in Samarkand, we hearken to the amazing story of a man who more than 15 years ago decided to restore the technique of making silk paper through archival documents and got a great success.
